Sponsorship allows us a door into families, to teach them about God´s Word and practical parenting issues like nutrition, discipline, self-esteem and more. Parents must receive these classes each month in order for their children to receive sponsorship, and all of this builds up a friendship with the family so that we can understand what their lives are like and what kind of need they have.

In August as we were helping one of our sponsor children we found out that the family was bathing in water heated on the stove because their shower had broken and they didn´t have $20 to fix it.

The need is so great that until we find sponsors for these children, Revolution Ministries is doing all it can to support them. We have purchased school supplies for children and food for families. We hope that God will provide sponsors so that these families will have help they can count on. Each family is interviewed in-depth, and sponsorship aids families who, despite their best efforts, just can´t help themselves enough to provide for their children.

The Bible says that those who help little children in Jesus´ name are helping Jesus Himself. We believe that God will move in people´s hearts to help this sponsorship program grow in the coming months.

This has been a time that we have committed ourselves to seek God more deeply with the youth. Every other Friday we fast, and have a special service at night in honor of the fast. We have seen that these times have helped strengthen the youth, and through a renewed search for God they have been able to overcome their problems and trust in the Lord. During these special services we have times of intercession where we pray for youth that we know who are not Christians or who have fallen away, as well as for our church in general. We have a long list of names that we cover in prayer, so that these people can know God or return to a relationship with Him. We also pray for ourselves, that God would use us and change us according to His will.

We are very happy to see that more and more youth are joining our discipleship class. It´s exciting to talk with them and answer their questions, and see their hunger for God. We usually run out of time for all the interesting conversations we have with them!

We believe that we will continue to see the youth group grow, and that we will see many youth wanting to dedicate their lives to loving and serving God. We hope that some of the youth who join us will be those that we pray for! We know that God is going to do great things in these young lives!

The pastor has asked us to kick off the women´s ministry with a women´s conference to be held at our church. Right now we are in the planning stages, asking God to direct us on a theme for the conference as well as speakers and activities.

After the conference we plan to start a weekly women´s meeting at church for Bible study and fellowship.

While we continue planning, we have begun to visit the women at their homes, to encourage them and get to know them better. Hopefully as our friendships grow, so will their desire to have fellowship with other women at the church.

The opportunity to work with women is a wonderful one because it opens doors for future ministries like intercession, children´s ministry and ministry to the sick and needy. Women are a great force in the church, and we can´t wait to see these women grow and take hold of what God has prepared for them.

It´s humbling to know that you are out there praying for us, some of you every day, and we don´t even know who you are! The truth is that every day we feel the effects of your prayers, and by battling for us in your homes, you become a powerful partner in our ministry.

Those of you who support us financially are an enormous blessing to our family and to the people we minister to. We live by faith, and your support provides us with a livelihood and a way to help others. In the history of our ministry God has always been faithful, moving the hearts of people like you to keep the ministry alive.

Whatever your role in the ministry, we wish we could give you a big hug and thank you in person for the blessing that you are to us. I attended Sunday school and VBS , and I loved to learn about God and listen to Bible stories. When there would be revivals and all-night church services I would fall asleep in my dad´s arms, It didn´t matter to us that church if the church was far away or close by, if there were buses to get home or if we had to walk. When I was eight years old I remember that there was a revival at church and the preacher said that we should accept Jesus as our only Savior, even if we had been born in a Christian home. I remember that I hadn´t prayed that prayer before and so in that moment I did.

After that I continued to grow and as time passed I would watch the testimony of my mom and some of my sisters (but not all of my siblings). I also experienced rejection and being made fun of because I was a Christian by my own family. I saw how my mother would cry because my older siblings wouldn´t accept the gospel.

When I started high school our financial situation was not good. I was a desperate situation and my parents didn´t know what to do. I don´t know how, but somehow we were all able to attend high school and thanks to God we learned to lean on each other in our problems. Up to a certain point in my life I had experienced sadness, hunger, need—not much, but I got through it because I thought we had such a united family.

Everything changed beginning when my mother got sick, and just kept getting worse. She changed and became very aggressive, she failed God and all this made me become aggressive and rebellious, too. My siblings blamed us for the situation and my dad didn´t have the money to care for my mom. My family began to blame God and ask why. Throughout the situation we didn´t stop to fast and pray that God would heal her.  She spent Mother´s Day with us and the next week she died.

It was very painful for our family and for me. I thought my mom would be around forever and that these things would never happen to me. With her death my faith, spirituality and love for God died as well.

We kept asking God why, and I couldn´t stand the pain. My siblings fell away from God and said bad things about Him. I thought all this happened because of my own rebellion so I just suffered in silence.

I went back to church almost two years after all this happened. I joined the worship team, I helped in the kids´ program, and I started to feel happy again. I remembered what my mom always asked God for, that my siblings would all come to serve Him, and that became my prayer and the desire of my heart. At that time my sister Blanca and I were the strongest in our faith, and she was the one who comforted me, guided me, and disciplined me since my mom died. I loved her a lot, but she was also taken from me in the most horrible and scary way. If my mother´s death was a hard blow for me, the blow of my sister´s death was twice as hard. The worst part was that I couldn´t show my pain or tears because I had to comfort my sister, father, and most of all, my deceased sister´s four-year-old son, and explain to him what happened. I thought God was punishing us again for our hard-heartedness.

The most important thing is that God is very, very merciful and faithful. I found two special friends that didn´t let me sink in my pain. They helped me a lot and thanks to them I didn´t leave God´s path,

God has placed people in my life that love Him more than anything else, and they have helped pick me up. I have learned a lot from them, and they say they have learned from me, too.

I understand that God wasn´t punishing me and that He does love me. Maybe He was just testing me. In the past ten years that things have happened, I have seen God´s grace in my family as some of my siblings have grown in their faith while other still struggle. I still fail God sometimes, but I trust in His love and that Jesus won´t leave me, even if everyone else does.

There are many child sponsorship programs already in existence, and many of them are wonderful, but we have seen a need here in Ecuador that is not yet being met. Most children are forced by their parents to work, selling candies and other small ítems on buses, to help bring in an income for their family. These children start working as young as 3 or 4 years old.

Our program seeks to help these children by providing for their needs so that their parents can focus on providing for the costs of their family, like rent, electricity and water.

100% of the sponsorship funds go toward the child, with about 5% going towards costs incurred in getting that support to the children, such as travel costs. The families involved in the program are interviewed extensively, and when possible we try to support Christian families first.

The cost of sponsoring one child in Ecuador is $30 a month, and goes towards things like school supplies, uniforms, doctor and dentist visits, vitamins, parasite and other medicines, and birthday and Christmas presents. Our sponsors will also have the opportunity to write to their children and send small gifts to them if they would like to.

In addition, each sponsor will receive a personalized, secure website where they can view monthly updates on their sponsor child, photos, and a report on exactly how their sponsor money was used that month.

For most people, $30 a month doesn´t even cover the internet or cable bill, but in Ecuador it can make all the difference in the life of a child, and by being a sponsor your monthly support will reap endless heavenly dividends.

As our resources slowly grow, we have had a bigger vision to help these new moms, and others like them, who love their children but just can´t quite seem to get a break. We are starting with gift baskets for new moms, with basic supplies and lots of information about childcare and motherhood. Eventually we hope to open a women´s center so that we can offer permanent, reliable help to these women.

The pastor at our church has presented us with another opportunity to help women, in the form of a weekly women´s Bible study. This is an exciting opportunity and we are praying and planning to see when we should start and what we should study. This is a wonderful way to reach the very heart of the home, which is the wife and mother! If we can help these women to grow, we can help shape the coming generations for Christ in a very special way!

We try to take a creative approach to evangelism, using things like music, dance and drama to convey the message of the gospel. This way, people´s hearts are softened to hearing the message that God has for them.

Our youth have grown very much in their abilities in all these areas, and with them we are able to put on different kinds of events, from street evangelism to renting out stadiums!

The best part of all this is seeing people make the decision to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. The next step for these new Christians is discipleship, whether it be with us, or with another church that is closer to them.

Now God has given us an even broader vision, and soon we will be going out once a week to the outskirts of Quito to spread the gospel and disciple. The people living in these areas have little or no access to churches, and are largely forgotten. We hope to establish a permanent presence there that these people can count on.

Please pray for us as we continue to spread the gospel, that God would prepare the hearts of those we come into contact with, because time is short!

If you were to visit Quito, and go downtown to see some of the tourist attractions, you would undoubtably notice as well many people begging for money. The majority of these people beg because they have no other options available to them. The Ecuadorian culture basically shuns any kind of disability, so someone who is blind, deaf, physically or mentally disabled is unlikely to find any kind of emplyment. Because they cannot contribute, they become a burden for their families. Typically, a family member or friend will drop off a disabled person downtown, go to work, and stop by to pick up that person after work, hoping that they have earned something from begging.

We believe that in order to talk about God´s love, we should first show God´s love. That is why soon we will be starting a program with these very special people. We will be going downtown once a week to give out free meals to those who are begging, and talk to them about Jesus! These people who are so accustomed to rejection are in special need of someone to love them, which is why we are so passionate about telling them about God´s love!

This belief gave way to a new project. We have started to have special events including different churches of different denominations, for a time of praise and worship, prayer and seeking God together, in the hopes that we will grow together in unity. This project is called The Time Has Come.

As we unite we will be able to capacitate believers to work together in evangelism. With more people with the same passion we will be able to do outreaches, visit the sick and those in prison and preach the gospel as one church — God´s church!

The plan is to work together in each church´s neighborhood so that when people are brought to Christ they will have somewhere to go to be discipled and grow in their faith.

Between all of these churches we are also forming a group of musicians who will be able to assist in these evangelistic events. This includes believers from other cities besides Quito, which can be difficult to coordinate at times, but it´s a blessing to unite God´s people with one vision and do what needs to be done!

The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Help us to pray that God continues to send workers to His harvest!
